NAIAS 2010

In January 2010 Tesla Motors, Inc. took their 1,000th car to the North American International Auto Show. They sold it there and gave the money to charity. I was the very fortunate buyer. Convinced that this car will some day in the future be the crown jewel in some magnificent collection or museum I also was able to acquire the large hanging red Tesla sign and the silver colored descriptive floor stand that the right front tire was sitting on. These items will hopefully forever go with the car. To the best of my ability, I am trying to give the car additional provenance by doing special things with it. For example, on the 1st day of January 2011 some friends and I completed 347.2 miles driven on a single electrical charge. Which was at that time more than 10 percent farther than any other production electric car had been driven on a single charge
